This bedroom was designed in response to the client’s desire for a space that feels minimalist, calm, and architecturally refined, while still incorporating warmth, colour, and expressive pattern. The design balances clean contemporary forms with layered materials and carefully selected accents to avoid the space feeling overly stark or clinical. To soften the minimal aesthetic and introduce personality, the material palette combines tactile natural finishes with rich tonal contrast. Linen upholstery and bedding bring warmth and texture to the bed, while polished concrete flooring and cast concrete side tables provide a subtle monolithic quality that complements the architectural simplicity of the space. Colour was introduced intentionally through selected focal elements rather than throughout the entire room. The deep burgundy velvet lounge chairs add richness and visual depth, creating contrast against the otherwise neutral palette. Similarly, the patterned area rug introduces movement, layering, and softness beneath the bed while maintaining cohesion through earthy olive, sand, and dark tonal variations. Overall, the final design responds to the brief by creating a minimalist interior that remains warm, tactile, and expressive — combining clean architectural detailing with layered materials, rich textures, and carefully curated moments of colour and pattern.
