For this living space, the client envisioned a formal lounge that would function as both a refined entertaining area and a visual statement within the home. Positioned behind a full-height glass partition overlooking the kitchen and dining area, the room was designed to feel intentionally curated — almost gallery-like in its composition — allowing it to be appreciated both from within the space itself and as part of the wider open-plan interior. As the room was primarily intended for elegant evening entertaining and social gatherings with family and friends, the design approach focused on creating an atmosphere that felt sophisticated, intimate, and elevated, while still maintaining a sense of warmth and comfort. Rather than following the conventions of a typical casual living room, we explored stronger architectural forms, sculptural furniture silhouettes, and carefully balanced material contrasts to establish a more formal and considered aesthetic.
